Singapore's Fintech Hiring Spree: Why AI Is Creating Jobs, Not Cutting Them
Singapore's fintech sector is hiring as AI helps companies grow, build new products, and create new roles. Here's what this means for employers and job seekers, and how JobSingha is helping connect finance talent with opportunities.
Singapore's Fintech Hiring Spree: Why AI Is Creating Jobs, Not Cutting Them
Fintech firms in Singapore are hiring aggressively this year, and AI is playing an important role in that growth. While there is a lot of talk about AI replacing jobs, the fintech sector in Singapore is seeing something different. AI is helping companies grow, create new products, and hire more talent.
Airwallex is growing its Singapore team
Airwallex is scaling fast. The Australia-founded payments platform plans to grow its Singapore team by over 70% this year, reaching close to 800 employees by the end of 2026, up from nearly 700 today.
Most open roles sit in product, engineering, and design, alongside operations, sales, and finance.
Singapore is also an important location for Airwallex's AI development. The company is working on AI products such as agentic wallets, which allow AI systems to make purchases based on set rules. It is also using AI tools internally to improve productivity.
The company reported a 107% revenue increase in Singapore for 2025, marking its second consecutive year of triple-digit growth. As Airwallex's VP for global people and talent, Richard Yan, put it, AI has created both an internal and external story about what the business can build and how it can scale.
Revolut is also expanding
Revolut nearly doubled its local team. The London-based payments company grew its Singapore headcount by 95% between 2024 and 2025, from roughly 86 to 168 employees, and is targeting over 300 within three years.
Open roles are concentrated in product, design, risk, compliance, and audit.
Revolut's APAC HR head, Ryan Park, noted that AI is not used as a side tool. It is embedded across how the company builds products, serves customers, and runs the business, and that has increased, not decreased, demand for talent.
